It’s time for the pre-match hype, and you could now say that Arsenal fans are starting to get a bit nervous. While most fans were shouting and goading Chelsea to come on, now it seems that they are rather daunted by the West Londoners’ offensive strength. My question—- what offense ?!

Today’s interviews with Wenger have revealed that there will not be any dealings with the Spanish international Juan Mata.
“We will not do a deal for Juan Mata. I don’t have to give a reason,” said Wenger.
Wenger has also stated that the Brazilian midfielder Jadson has not been contacted.
“We are nowhere near on Jadson. We are not talking to Shakhtar about him”
On top of all that, Wenger has also commented on the centre-back issue.
Arsenal were never serious about signing Mata…..by Nicholas
According to his agent and father, Mata had a 25 million euro buy out clause in his contract which expired on July 31st. He apparently spent all day waiting for Arsenal to come through with a bid which did not materialize. He had earlier rejected a Spurs bid in favour of Arsenal only for Arsenal to turn their backs on him. The chances of signing him now appear to be very remote since the price will have gone up significantly and the fact that the club have let him down. Is this just another case of Arsenal’s indecisiveness in the transfer market or were we never really serious about signing him in the first place?
A lot of strange rumours have been floating around the Arsenal blogosphere in the last few days, and they just pulled me towards them. A couple are realistic ones, while others are plain old wishlist stuff. After all, people over at Caught Offside and Footie Online do need to pass the time and pull in a couple of extra G’s, don’t they?
Mata looks to be on the move this summer after his club admitted that they are having to sell their best players if the right offer comes in. I don’t know what they exactly mean by the right offer, but with Mata having being seen in London in the last week, rumours are circulating that Arsene has submitted the ‘right’ offer for once.

Juan Mata was reportedly seen in London today, sparking rumours that Arsenal have agreed a £15M deal with Valencia for his signature. A great deal if it were to go through, but would certainly mean that at least 1 of Fab or Nasri is leaving. I believe it will be Nasri, and good riddance too!
