£100k a week, for the Arsenal player that scared the pants off Messi & Guardiola? 66

Posted on September 06, 2012 by admin

According to media sources, Arsenal Football Club is apparently struggling to close a deal with a certain player who Lionel Messi himself once quoted as “one of the most dangerous players I have ever played against”. It is rumored that the player is holding out for a salary of about £100k a week.

Is this player worth £100k per week? I for one believe he is worth every penny and – in my opinion – is probably one of the most underrated player’s at the moment. So who’s this player? Theo Walcott. And I’m not at all surprised that so many AFC fans frown upon the salary he is reported to have asked for.

Gaz: RVP rejects new Arsenal contract. Time to say goodbye. 11

Here we are again. Last year it was Fabregas and Nasri. This year we have Robin Van Persie and probably Theo Walcott to follow. As an Arsenal fan I’m getting sick and tired of this kind of scenario happening every summer. Just when I found myself getting excited for the new season ahead, seeing two quality players like Podolski and Giroud arrive. This has to happen. Our captain wants out because the club’s vision of the way forward doesn’t match his own.

John – Arsenal can get even better without Van Persie 0

REASONS WHY ARSENAL CAN PROSPER WITHOUT RVP by John F.

So we learn that RVP will not sign another contract with Arsenal. I think we will all be disappointed at this decision but I hope that it can actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Is Van Persie Too Old For Arsenal? by Neill

Arsenal’s captain Robin Van Persie is still unsure about his contract situation and even though the deal he has with the Gunners is due to expire next summer, the Dutch has yet confirmed his stay (or leave).

Robin Van Persie was advised by his former colleague Cesc Fabregas earlier this season to leave if he wants to leave, because at 28, this might be his last chance of playing at another club (a supposedly bigger one).

Vinay: A Tribute to Robin Van Persie (and he should remember what Arsenal have done for him) 11

Super Robin by Vinay

As the season comes to an end, its fitting that i write about the man who has been the important reason for Arsenal to finish 3rd (praying to god), Robin Van Persie has been truly magnificent this season.

John Collard: Robin van Persie’s loyalty for Arsenal will be the deciding factor! 6

Van Persie’s love will be stronger than money (surely) ?

Dear Gooners

As we get down to the last knocking of our mixed campaign, again questions will follow in regards to getting Robin to sign on the dotted line. My question to you all is, does Robin really love the club like some say? Well, in my opinion I believe he is a genuine guy and will stay at the club. The more time I have had to think about the contract of Robin Van Persie my belief on him staying with us becomes stronger.

Nitesh: Contract talks begin with Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott 20

Arsenal is now left with all of 10 matches to go this season, but the manager isn’t taking his attention away from the field at the moment. There’s no such thing as an easy run-in and the race for third spot is going to go the distance. We haven’t finished below the Spuds in God knows how long, and we wouldn’t want that to suddenly change now, would we?

Peter – Van Persie’s contract talks are forcing Arsenal to be ambitious 13

Posted on March 12, 2012 by admin

Arsene Wenger has done wonders by pulling Arsenal up from the depths of their worst start ever and putting themselves back into contention for a top three place in the Premiership, but I firmly believe that Robin Van Persie’s contract situation is forcing the Arsenal manager (and board) to be even more ambitious next season.

The Dutchman has told Arsenal that he won’t discuss an extension until they prove that they can match his ambitions to start winning trophies, and this is why Wenger is working hard to get guaranteed signings on board before the end of the season.

John Collard: 31 year old Tomas Rosicky does deserve a contract extension at Arsenal 22

Tomas Rosicky – is the return to form worth another punt?

Hello Gooners. Today I would like to see what your opinion is on the return of form of Tomas Rosicky.
I have been watching Thomas play over the last couple of months and it seems he is starting to roll back to the Borussia Dortmund days or even Sparta Prague. Tomas has had some great moments in a Arsenal shirt but as we all know he has been so unlucky with injuries during his Arsenal career. I can always remember the two great goals at Anfield and the great games he played for the Czech national team. Wenger always thought that there was a very good player in our hands. I believe the words ‘outstanding vision and touch’ was used to sum up the little midfield player.

Paul: Arsenal cannot lose TWO captains in TWO years 17

TO LOSE ONE CAPTAIN IS CARELESS–TO LOSE TWO WOULD BE UNFORGIVABLE

Over the last week or so there have been many stories about RVP due to the fact that his contract is up in 1 and a half years time. I don’t know if it’s just me but the media seem to revel in writing stories about him. ‘He has put his house up for sale so that means he’s leaving’. Well, for me, that simply means that he is moving house and people do that every day. As for ‘because he doesn’t want to talk about a new contract that means he is leaving’—-Well, again to me it means he has 2 years left on his current contract so is in no rush and why should he be.
