Martin Keown, the perfect replacement for Gentleman Pat Rice.
Hey Gooners.
As the holiday break comes our way, so does a massive game against Man City. Things are looking up at last with the Arsenal, positive vibes from all around and much talk that doesn’t look cheap on summer signings. Podolski without a doubt will be nothing more than a huge step forward and the signing of Robin Van Persie’s new contract to follow holds hopes high. Not to mention the return of Jack Wilshere and the progress of Oxlade. For me two of the finest players to come out of the English game in some time. But what I really want to talk about is my strong opinion on signing Martin Keown in place of Pat Rice. Read more...

So let us get over the excitement of the possibility and look at the reality of the deal. Thierry Henry should have returned to Arsenal after leaving Barcelona, period. He could have been a coach/player until he assumed a full time coach position. However, I am sure that he felt that he could continue to play very good football and that is why he went to New York. He also was given an excellent amount of money. On top of this he had to deal with the aftermath of his divorce which occurred in London. I am sure that due to this fluctuating period in his life he is a changed person. Life’s difficulty helps you see matters in a different light and so you adapt to the changes that were brought about by your behaviour. If you do not change you begin to slip in life.
