The FA Cup tie today between Arsenal and Blackburn would appear to be an easy home win on paper as the Gunners have been in excellent form lately, but with a crucial Champions League tie against Bayern Munich coming up on Tuesday, Arsene Wenger is certain to be fielding a weakened side.
Nevertheless Skybet have got Arsenal installed as hot 3/10 favourites, while the Championship side can be taken at odds of 8/1. If you fancy an easy Arsenal win then a much better value bet is the Gunners to win by at least two goals which is a very reasonable 4/5 with Sky. By the way if you are considering taking these prices then you should visit this site for a list of Sky codes so you can get hold of some free betting money!
The Arsenal confirmed starting XI has just been released and is as follows: Szczesny, Coquelin, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Monreal, Diaby, Rosicky, Arteta, Gervinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Giroud. Looking at this forward line it may be worth backing Olivier Giroud to score the first goal. He has been in brilliant form lately and 3/1 seems to be excellent odds.
Gervinho has also been at great form away at the African Nations Cup and available at 4/1 from Sky. That may seem a good price, but I would rather wait a few games for him to get back into the rhythm of the Premier League before investing any money on him.
Thomas Rosicky also makes his first appearance after returning from injury so I think the 8/1 on him to score first is a little short, and would much rather take the same price on the Spaniard Mikel Arteta who is always capable of popping one in from midfield. Also he is usually the first-choice penalty taker so you will get an extra chance to collect your money.
So my recommended bet is Arsenal on the handicap -1 @ 4/5 and Arteta to score the first goal at 8/1 (both from Skybet)
