Louis – All Arsenal’s problems could be solved by raiding Newcastle!

Let’s raid th’ north by Louis

It is quite clear from the first 2 games of this season that Arsenal, whilst looking reasonably strong, still have a lot of work to do, and a few more faces to add before we can really launch a threat on that number 1 spot that has eluded us the past couple of years. In my opinion there are 3 areas that we need to improve upon:

Firstly, and most obviously, up front. Despite the additions of Giroud and Podolski, we have failed to score in both of our opening games against fairly average teams. Now, I’m sure that Olivier and Lukas will come good, however we cannot afford to go the first 10-15 games without a reliable goal scorer.

Secondly, midfield. Again we’ve added here as well, in the shape of new fans’ favourite Santi Cazorla. I believe that Cazorla will become the lynch pin of the Arsenal attack for the next few seasons, however we cannot rely on him all the time, plus as I’ve mentioned already, our attack has looked rather toothless thus far, even with our new maestro involved.

Our final ‘problem’ is cover in defence. There is no problem with our full strength, in fact I think it’s one of the finest in the league. However, one or two injuries and we’re in trouble. Jenkinson has been OK, but has yet to be really tested, and Andre Santos is more than questionable when it comes to defensive duties, even if he occasionally comes up with a bit of Brazilian magic.

So, what can we do about it? My answer, a transfer deadline day raid of the Sports Direct Arena. Now at this point I would like to mention that none of these transfers are even remotely near to happening, and that I am not ITK, these are simply my opinions.

Newcastle have a player for each of the problems I have identified. Demba Ba’s release clause at £7.5 million has gone under the radar this summer, and for that price I’d snap him up in a heart beat. He’s proven in the Premier League, and would fit in perfectly with our style of play.

In terms of our midfield problems, I would take either Cabaye or Tiote. Preferably Tiote, he’s more defensive, meaning that our other Spanish wizz, Mikel Arteta would have the opportunity to express himself going forward a bit more. What’s more Tiote is younger, however he would probably come at a greater cost.

Finally, but probably most unlikely, is Fabricio Colocinni. He’s the kind of versatile defender we’ve been crying out for. He can play centre back, left back and even right back. In addition he’s a natural leader, and with Vermaelen and Arteta being the only natural leaders in the team, another one wouldn’t hurt.

I would put my house on the fact that none of these deals will happen, however if I had the chance to raid the Arsenal coffers those are the transfers that I would try to push through.

Thank you for your time,

Louis Pegg.

Wenger is only looking out for loan deals. Those players u mentioned wil not come on loan bcose they are relevance to newcastle plus they wil not allow any of its star players to go at this late hours of the tranfer window.

  7. Dave Highbury says:

arsenal don’t have any problems. Santos is not shit you dimwit, it is a rumor. He is GREAT on the ball and links up brilliantly, uses his weight like a Tai Chi Master with a Samba groove, and Bould has him under wraps. Podolski and Giroud are ‘unreliable’?? Shut up. If Giroud’s goal would have gone in at the end of the Stoke game, he’d have been GOD to you. Their movement, strength and skill were there for all to see, you just didn’t notice coz you wanted a goal.
Colicini? We’ve got Per/Verminator/Koz… you plum.
The only Mid-field problem we’ve got is that we can’t play them all.
Sagna, Wilshire, Rosicky all coming back… Arsenal is way better than you are making out.

  10. Gooner N4 says:

    Newcastle have new ambition.
They would not sell their players in bulk to us and why would they?
Only the board at Arsenal see good business in selling their best players to rivals.
And before all those Gooners run back to the business policy.
Newcastle’s owner knows a bit about that too.
He had to listen to the fans eventually because they pay the bills.
We expect fans to pay up and shut up if you do’nt agree with Wenger and the board.
