John Collard-Arsenal are not missing Song and RvP
Its been a very strange start to the premiership season and in most peoples view a positive start from the Arsenal. Our new signings Podolski and Cazorla seem to be taking to the premiership like ducks to water (Early days). But all in all it would seem our wonderful club seems more of a solid outfit from start to end.
Ok we have the Oliver Giroud situation and the goalkeeper has not started well for the most negative points of view but all in all not bad at all. But one thing I would like to get across is I got slated for coming on here saying Song will not be a major loss and it really hasn’t been at all. Diaby has started to play man up and Arteta has been nothing more than outstanding in his new role and Cazorla I really don’t need to say much do I?
It would also seem Ramsey looks sharp when he comes on and Wilshire is back in training and not many cries for the Song of late. Robin Van Persie will always be class and any team in the world would want him. But at the moment our front men are doing very well indeed or should I say wingers lol. And now also the defenders have been playing in a outstanding fashion. the Tank (Mertersacker) has come on in abundance and its clear Steve Bould has helped the lads out in many ways (What a great signing).
Gooners do u believe that the team is a better all round unit or do you feel we have gone backwards? I just can help think that the Song fans that have come on here have highly overrated the midfielder and slated Wenger in the process. I think it was a good move in all honesty and the midfield has not looked so sharp in sometime which also goes for the defence. And it is also clear that the burden of Van Persie and his goals are no longer such a worry.
Players seem to step up to the mark like Robin did when Cesc left. I think there is no question Wenger is a great manager and an even better businessmen but I guess time will tell on the season in the coming weeks. Also gooners what has really gave you hope this season, what have you seen or haven’t that may also worry you?
I just cant help take a lot of positives so far in the early stages, plus there seems to be a buzz around the ground when I went to the games. I think, all in all, the fans that came on here and didn’t think Podolski was a class act really should get a knowledge check on their football. He has clearly been a breath of fresh air and all though he don’t have the skill of Van Persie he has as much heart as a player of the likes of Tony Adams and Steve Bould himself.
Podolski is a man that is not afraid to get stuck in and with the class of Cazorla who also is not much behind Cesc in my opinion things don’t look bad at all. Now, I am not saying we are going to win anything, but progress is without question on its way. Also Oliver Giroud has started slow in front of goal, the movement from the player is without question first class.
Its too early to judge and Van Persie and Bergkamp took time and Henry was mocked in the early stages of his Arsenal days. Gooners are we really missing Song, without question NO WAY. SLATE ME ALL YOU WISH. But Alex Song was overrrated, and struggling to get a game at Barcelona, a good player on his day but that’s as far as it goes. Van Persie is missed at any club but he now is a red devil and I have no time for the player after grabbing the badge (Still that’s football) Thanks for reading.

My concern and I think I am correct on this as it is just the nature of the beast, but our 3 signings as good as they are, will not be at this level all season long and will run out of fuel at some point. (Unless OG starts late so finishes late?) That is when the likes of Ramsey, Rocky and Theo should be able to take over the reins when they hit a slump which is eneviitable or injuries (god forbid).
I think this team can do something special if we keep them all fit.
I am not including diaby or JW as I think diaby will get injured again and jack needs heaps if time to build up, so next season for me.

wow cesc is so overrated. Cesc was one-dimensional and made the team look one-dimensional. the team now looks so much more dynamic and unpredictable with Cazorla, who can shoot the ball well, dribble at defenses, and is creative with his quick passing and movement. he brings players into the game unlike cesc.
Song was overrated but no doubt RVP would make us even stronger.
Hot debate. What do you think?

RIP will regret his move.
I sticked to him I saw him in an Arsenal Legend in the making.
He could have been the Captain of this Team and lead us to the Title.
He choose to go to our Arch Rivals a Team that is fading away with two 40 year old their best Players.
Arsenal will finish above Manu that at least I predict.
I was shocked and Hurt by RIP’s decision.
But we got Podolski and Cazorla for a Man that had one good season and did not repay the faith that Arsene Wenger put in him.
For that Reason I salute Stephen Gerrad because he sticks to his Club.
That I respect.
Arsenal will go from strength to strength.
And RIP and Swan Song choose greed over substance.
They could have been but they had not the stamina to fight for it.
Good Riddance.
In Arsene Wenger I trust!

Rvp is class but at that time goals only came through him but now everyone is scoring.
song was realy overated and 1 reason we have conceded less goals is due to his absence.

If you think Song was over rated you are either blind, spiteful or petty.
It’s comments like this that make ex players taunt us.
would you think the same if he stayed?

Song is overrated any football fan in and outside of arsenal was wondering why barcalona wanted him. Song is a good player no question but fans have without question made him bigger because he wore our colours. Gooner n4 sox buddy but I disagree very strongly. Blind I am not my vision as a ex player myself is still strong spiteful are not all fans but more towards spurs and utd or petty maybe pretty then yes . But hey your opinion my friend

Song may not be a typical Barca type player but successful clubs recognise the importance of players like him.
Not every game can be won playing the pretty stuff.
We still have to learn that and with Steve Bould’s help we will.
Remember the great contribution to our club by players like Ray Parlour? His game allowed the artists like Bergkamp to do what he did best.

I might debate the Pod not as skilful as RVP.I never saw RVP run through players like Podolski can. On the evidence of one free kick he is certainly accurate. Not a like for like player but the skill level is certainly there, you don’t win that many caps for Germany when you are fair to average. Cazorla is an inspiration, probably where we would have liked to see Cesc emerge to. But most of all I am wrapped with Diaby. I have backed him through thick and thin. Never wanted to see him sold. Oh and did anyone notice we had 5 British players on together the other week ?

@Mark, tend to disagree with you. Cesc. Was slightly a better player than carzola. There are so many similarities between the two in terms of dribbling skills, passing skills etc. However, carzola can shoot from far, and has a slightly higher work rate than cesc. This is a positive aspect over cesc. Cesc on the other hand has better movement inside the box, more creative inside the box, and has clinical finishing, and can easily change the tempo of the game(rem. Game against aston villa 09/10 season when he came off the bench to score 2 quick goals). These are positive aspects over carzola. So cesc.is slightly better than carzola.

well arsenal has overrated Cesc..well all i pray Arteta does not get injured cos he his the real engine room of the midfield and i believe Carzola Giroud and Poldoski are very good buy ..cos they are team player ..Like the last 2 years we played to just one man…we are better this season but will be more happier to see us beat Man city and Chelsea,,,i am keen on Arteta cos no one to fill his holes in the team but every other position has another one person occupy the place .Cos Arteta always want to win and always do anything to make the game pass..

@ OLABODE I AGREE WITH YOU ASSERTION.. NO REPLACEMENT NOE FOR ARTETA ,MAY BE LATER IN THE SEASON WHEN ALL OTHERS LIKE CPQUELIN AND FRIMPONG DENCH HAVE SEEN MORE GAME TIME AND BECOM MORE CONFIDENT. BUT WE ARE GOING TO BEAT CITY TOMMOROW INSHA ALLAH.

Neither player has been missed so far but it is early days.
In my opinion Song will be missed more than RVP in bigger games like tomorrow against City when you need to be disciplined defensively.
RVP was class for us but we will always score goals.
Diaby was very sloppy in mid week giving away pocession in our own box and it nearly cost us.
We must cut that out to prove we are better without them.
Another goal keeping blunder did’nt hurt against Southampton but could cost us in bigger games.

If Rvp was playing up front instead of Gervinho we would have won yesterday. The fact that with all our forwards fit Wenger felt Gervinho was the best option illustrates just how much we are missing RVP.
