Why Robin Loves Arsenal. by Mategyero
A few days ago when Robin van Persie released a statement to the fans about his future at the club, many things have happened. Some fans have been furious, while others asking him for a second chance! In fact, a facebook fan page was created for just that. The aim of the page was to get 20,000 fans to show Robin that we still need him around. The last time I checked, the page had surpassed 12K fans. Incredible isn’t it?
It was love. Read more...

If you have studied wars, you should by now know that chance is vitally a determinant factor. Even in the Napoleonic wars, it was luck which married Napoleon until he decided to attack Moscow. That’s when they divorced.
Chelsea’s progress to the UCL Final is not something to water down. Oh yeah, some say it was luck, others think that Chelsea played like traditional Englishmen etc, but all these hardly matter now. The truth is, Chelsea could be the next European Champions. How’s that for a joke?
Even with a perverted season, Chelsea has something to laugh about. Even with the old-worn-out players, Chelsea is in the UCL Final. Read more...

They call me captain Van-tastic; some talking points in yesterday’s lunchtime encounter.
Introduction.
Entering yesterday’s game, the stakes were high. Following a 5-2 mauling of spurs last week, the Guns were confident they could win this one too. Their opponents – Liverpool were also desperate to return to winning ways. Therefore, it either had to be Van Persie or Suarez, but not both.
Captain Van-tastic.
He is incredibly fantastic; he has mastered to score with his weaker right foot; he has outstanding aerial ability; he is the hottest striker in the world; the list is endless. The point is that Van Persie had two shots on target and netted two goals to win the game for Arsenal. Read more...

The Ultimate Restructuring Guide (Part 2).
Introduction.
PS. I would like to congratulate all the Gooners upon showing that Arsenal is still the pride of London. Taking the Spuds to a Football academy is something I saw coming. [They have a lot of homework to if they are to finish above us!]
The first article of mine to appear on this website early last year was about Arsenal’s squad depth. I argued that Arsenal clearly lacked depth. Even though Arsene brings in new players every season, my observation was (and still is) that these are just replacements and not real reinforcements to tackle the challenge of squad depth. Even with these replacements, a lot of laxity has manifested itself. Many of Arsene’s signings are under-par and a Restructure is just the right word. We need a team that can compete not that one which will drop out of all competitions in a space of five days! Read more...

Two things that caught my eye in the mid-week UCL tie.
Often times in football matches when the winner takes the day with an incredible margin – like AC Milan did, then you do two things; you either credit the winner or you demean the loser – in other words it is the winner that is so good or the loser that is so horrible.
Of the two scenarios, I would choose the second. Not that great! Read more...

It was just a change in timing – nothing more.
Many ‘Gooners’ have come out of recent to call for Arsene’s resignation [it is by no surprise that many of these don’t even understand the dynamics of the game; even how centre halves should position themselves!] I think events leading to this situation are not rare – we have had them with us in the past years, the difference this time was just timing.
Rare start. Read more...

Am Thinking Hard, Trust me I really Am.
It has been a while now since we last had a consistent run of games without losing points. I really miss those days. Now, what do we have today? A night of happiness, followed by an ugly day!
The match yesterday was not what I expected from a somewhat ‘rejuvenated’ Arsenal. You would be insane to tag that match fair. I for one thought that many things were lacking in that Arsenal side. Let me first give the players a break. Notwithstanding, I will question AW’s team selection. Read more...

Should we say that the Guns are back blazing?
Entering today’s game, there was a lot of optimism on one side and false belief on the other. That said, Arsenal put up a great show today to impress the desperate fans that had turned up to watch the team after several dismal performances.
Three goals it was in favor of Arsenal. A goalless first half and a thrilling second half in which we witnessed RVP10’s brace and Song’s brilliant effort. Coupled with this were the many chances we missed. Read more...

Five Reasons Why I am confident.
Arsenal has had the worst of starts to the new season since 1953, well, yes that is right! Nevertheless, is it a big deal, as all those folks there want you to believe? I think that whatever it mat be to them, it should not be to us – the Gooners.
As a Gooner, I have reasons to be confident and proud of being who I am. True, we are not doing well but everyone gets a bad day(s). This is why I think you should also be as confident as I am. First, find out the reasons that make me firm and confident of this season. Read more...
